The AA Hotel of the Year award was introduced in 1992 and is awarded to Hotels that are recognised as being outstanding examples in their particular market. Winning Hotels are innovative and always set high standards in Hotel keeping. This is AA Ireland’s most prestigious accolade and also the first time that a Hotel in the North West Region is in receipt of the same.

“Swiss Made in Ireland”
Harvey’s Point has its origins in an old Irish cottage, once owned by the Harvey brothers which Swiss born Jody Gysling bought over 20 years ago as it mirrored a little piece of Switzerland for him. Later his brother Marc arrived from Zurich who worked in the kitchen. Local girl, Deirdre Mc Glone joined The Gysling brothers in 1989 when the hotel opened. Romance blossomed between Marc & Deirdre and together they worked towards the vision of blending the best of Swiss hospitality with a warm Irish welcome. They now have 3 young children, Carl, James and Christina.
