Donegal and Sligo have some of the best beaches in Ireland, many of which are popular for surfing, kite-surfing, swimming, horse-riding, leisure walking or simply enjoying so many spacious, golden strands.

Blue Flags are awarded to beaches that meet specific environmental, safety and management criteria.

Green Coast Awards are awarded to beaches for their natural beauty, clean environment and water quality.
