Assistant Banqueting Manager

Main purpose of job: 

·         To Assume Full Responsibility for the Banqueting Department of the award-winning Harveys Point Hotel.

·         To work closely with colleagues so as to achieve financial targets  

·         To ensure the highest standards of service and the efficient and effective operation of the banqueting department.

·         To operate in accordance with company policy and objectives whilst maximising profitability in line with budget and effective development of the business. 

 

Duties Include:

·         To provide support to the Banqueting Manager and ensure the smooth operation of the Banqueting department at all times.

·         To assist with the day to day running of Harveys Point Hotel.

·         To manage and motivate the Banqueting Department to achieve the best possible standards.

·         To achieve required targets in relation to Revenue, Payroll and GP %

·         To ensure the best levels of customer care within the property.

·         Optimize all hotel service procedures to achieve audit standards.

·         To assist in setting budgets and controls appropriate to ensure maximum 

·         To work closely with the management team in increasing sales and ensuring the smooth operation of the banqueting department.

·         To work closely with the Head Chef on menu planning, quality control and food cost percentage. 

 

Candidate Requirements:

·         At least 1-year full time experience as a banqueting Supervisor in 4 or 5-star Hotel

·         Knowledge of Hotel S.O.P's is essential

·         Experienced in dealing with high volumes and fast-paced working environments

·         Individuals must have flexibility in their approach, the ability to adapt to last-minute changes and be extremely customer-focused

·         An excellent command of the English language

·         Shift work and flexibility is required in this position

·         Excellent communication skills required

·         Must have excellent knowledge of food and beverage systems

·         Must have knowledge of function bills and charges

·         Must be able to motivate and lead a team

Chef de Partie


Primary Objectives

To always maintain and manage the required high operational and personal standard of hygiene and presentation in compliance with the HACCP system. The preparation, cooking and service of food as directed by the senior chef de partie in charge of the section, whilst complying with portion control and presentation standards.

 Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

 To assist the kitchen management and senior chef de parties to ensure the kitchen operations run smoothly, working together with the front of house teams.

To assist in the ordering of food items when necessary.
To ensure all food leaves the kitchen in a safe sound manner.
To adhere to our HACCP system.

Trainee Chef

Primary Objective

 The objective of this role is to gain knowledge of all culinary offerings throughout the kitchen. A Trainee Chef prepares food and carries out basic cooking tasks under the supervision of a more senior chef.

 Front Desk Receptionist/ Reservations Agent

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating unique, memorable and personal experiences for our guests during the process of check-in, check-out, reservations, and will report directly to the Front Office Manager. He or she should have intuitive responsiveness to the expressed and unexpressed wishes and needs of our guests.

 Responsibilities:

Provide excellent service, build strong relationships, anticipate and exceed the guests’ expectations

Ensure an efficient reception experience for Guests, including check-in/out and complete audit procedures, as required

Take ownership of guests’ issues and take action to resolve them immediately

Job Requirements:

Reservation/F&B Administrator

Primary Objectives

 ·         To ensure that all our customers receive a level of care and attention that exceeds their expectations. 

·         To be active, proactive and achieve results. All work is carried out in line with the Hotel’s guidelines and Harvey’s Point service concepts.

 

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

 

·         Support the front office team at Harvey’s Point in all aspects of managing residents and non-residents Room Reservations, Food & Beverage Reservation’s

·         Overseeing the operation of Table Path (Dining IT system ) & Hot Soft ( Room Reservations System)  – Food & Beverage Booking system with the direction of the front office manager and the food and beverage manager

·         Be the first point of reference for administrator of guests dining experience 

·         Assist with the Drive of sales in the Food & Beverage Department  

·         Ensure a five-star level of guest care is delivered at all times to achieve a competitive edge

·         When required process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning room, and issuing and activating room key. 

·         When required complete all payment types such as room charges, cash, debit, or credit. 

·         When required process all check-outs including resolving any late and disputed charges. 

·         Process all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, email, or fax. 

·         Answer questions about property facilities/services and room accommodations. Follow sales techniques to maximize revenue. 

·         Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. 

·         Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.

The role

 · Early morning shifts 5AM to 12noon

 · Cleaning of function suites after events to the highest standard in line with hotel policies

 · Any other duties that may arise within the housekeeping department.

 

Person Specification

 The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, be reliable, a good communicator, a team player and have a passion to work in the hospitality industry.
